TGIF

Last weekend was so busy that I forgot to post a picture of my friend Ashley and I at her baby shower. She's having a boy in June! We've got a little over a week until our sonogram. Waiting is always the hardest part, but I've had several blood tests this week to make sure my hcg levels are still going up. They went from 232 on Sunday, to 426 on Tuesday, and yesterday it jumped up to 1,245. So far, so good!

I'm pregnant?

I've waited so long to say I'M PREGNANT! It still doesn't seem totally real, especially for Aaron because his first reaction was, really? Let me try to retell the last several days...it all goes back to my spring break trip to Abilene. I was feeling sick, and I didn't sleep well last Thursday night because of the nauseous feeling. So, I woke up Friday (at Christi's house) and decided to e-mail my nurse. She responded immediately telling me to take a home test, which I didn't think I was supposed to do. At about 7:30am, I went to Wal-Mart, which happens to be a minute from their house, I got back and took it, and there was a faint line...I mean, TWO lines. Christi and I spent the day running around Abilene, which is where I got the bandana for Rudy and ironed on the "big brother" letters. I got home before dinner on Friday, and took a picture of Rudy with his new bandana. That's how I told Aaron, and we also told our parents Friday night. Of-course I took another test on Saturday morning, which was much darker, and we told some more family on Saturday. Sunday was the blood test. They said anything over 5 was good, and my hcg level was 232. I'm waiting to hear what my results from today's test will be, but the nurse who took my blood said, wow, you might be having more than one. Since I'm 4 weeks right now, we'll go for our first sonogram in 2 weeks. Then we'll be able to hear the heartbeat or heartbeats! We want to thank everybody again for all of your comments, love, and support. Y'all are the best :)

Cute Pictures

Thanks Christi for showing me a great time in Abilene! Check out her blog for more pictures, and here are a couple more with our "adopted" family. We went to Hillcrest Church of Christ all four years of college. The Clute family would cook us dinner, we'd play games together, and we even got to be at the hospital when both boys were born. You can see how big they are now!

15 Years of ER

I've been laying on the couch poking around on the internet all afternoon, as well as napping and watching tv. Our embryo transfer went well today, although we didn't end up freezing any other embryos. We did use the two of good quality, and I'll go back for a blood test next Sunday. Back to my title...I watched ER from last night! Did anybody else see it? There were 4 stars from the first season who returned last night, including George Clooney! I can't believe ER started back in the fall of 1994, which means I was in the 8th grade. I haven't always watched it consistantly, but it's because we didn't have dvr back then!
Now it's a completely different cast, but I'm really going to miss ER. I think it ends in April :(

Spoiled Rotten

About a month ago, Rudy successfully destroyed our old comforter. I went by Kohl's and got one that's very similar, and I didn't let him sleep with us the first couple of nights. It didn't last long though. Thankfully, he's getting groomed on Saturday!!!

Our Story

We made it through the first Progesterone shot in my hip last night! You know, I wouldn't wish this whole process on anybody. It all started about a year after being married, and of -course I thought it wouldn't take long to get pregnant. After a year of trying, I mentioned we were having problems to my doctor. I remember the first of the tests was back in June 2007...the dye test to see if my tubes were blocked. Aaron was tested as well, but our results came back normal. The Clomid was next, which we all know made me crazy :) In 2008 we tried 3 IUI's, then came the Femara, and now after getting into an IVF research study, we're going to find out our results in just 2 weeks! I got a call from the embryologist yesterday. We had 13 (the magic number) eggs retrieved on Sunday. Out of those, 4 of them weren't mature enough to use, and 4 more were too fragile. So, they injected 5 eggs, and 1 ended up being abnormal. Now we're left with 4 good embryos. Let's pray those 4 make it through the week. Then we'll be able to transfer 2 and freeze the other 2 on Friday. I'll be having the procedure done a little before noon, and then I'll be taking it easy for the next 24 hours. Wow! If you're still confused, I found a pretty good article on WebMD about the IVF procedure.

It's a Buggy World

The program was great! I didn't get very many pictures, but Aaron video taped it. Here's a clip of Katie singing as a ladybug:

Here we are after the show!

So, we'll be at the doctor's office tomorrow morning for our egg retrieval. Then our embryo transfer will be on Friday (the 13th). Hopefully it won't be an unlucky day!

Think Yellow

My friend and music buddy, Kimberly, has been telling me to "think yellow" for the past few weeks. Did you know the color yellow is Feng Shui for good luck? I looked it up on google :) I've got my yellow funshine bear in my car, which always makes me smile. Thanks Kimberly! I'm off to the doctor's office yet again, and our preschool program is tonight. I'm sure it will all go well, but just in case, let's all THINK YELLOW!

March Madness

I feel like I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off! My day started by going to the doctor for a blood test. All my levels are good, so I'm going back tomorrow for a sonogram, and I'll continue with the shots. Aaron's doing a great job! We had our first dress rehearsal for the preschool program today. Once we get the music worked out, we should be good to go. I've got a couple of pictures to share from our weekend. Here's Randal hanging out (he's SO close to crawling)! And we got a shot of four generations of the Eakins men...notice their bellies get bigger from right to left.
