It's amazing how the doctor can come in for less than five minutes, and then it's done. I did ask him what the chances of twins were. He said 8.2% with a smile on his face. Dr. Kaufmann is so nice, and if this works, we'll see him for the first 12 weeks. My next appointment to do blood work is in two weeks. The only thing I'm feeling is some cramping, which is normal. I'm just taking it easy the rest of the day...laying on the couch with Rudy.

Medieval Times
I wasn't kidding about celebrating my birthday all week. Tonight we went with some friends (Cari and Paul) to Medieval Times, which I hadn't been to since I was 15 years old. We got the same knight I had back then...the evil green knight! It was fun :)
Last night we played games with my parents and some family friends (Gary and Joye). I got two new games for my birthday, Battle of the Sexes and Cranium. They were both fun to play! Tomorrow we're eating over at Aaron's parents' house, which will end my birthday celebrations. Monday's the big day, so I'll be taking my shot at 10:00 tonight. Wish me luck!Thursday, January 24, 2008
Day of Doctors
Everything looked good on my ultrasound, but he gave me some medicine because he said my lining was thin. I'm supposed to have a shot on Saturday night, and then we go in Monday morning for the IUI. I can't believe it's finally happening! So, if you think about us on Monday, we'll be at the doctor's office at 10:00.
I also went to my regular doctor this afternoon to have my ears checked. He cleaned them out...so hopefully that will make my earaches go away. I ate dinner with my parents tonight (Aaron's on a business trip in Houston). We had Chinese food, and my fortune said good luck was going to shower on me. I hope so! By my calculations, we should go back to the doctor around February 11th to see if the IUI worked. I'm trying to stay positive!

Lucky 27
Yesterday was my 27th birthday, but I believe in celebrating all week. On Monday night my family ate dinner with some friends of ours at Bucca Di Beppo. This is a picture of Kristi and I (we have the same birthday...she's four years younger than me).

Winterfest
We spent this past weekend with the youth group from our church. Aaron and I helped chaperone at Winterfest in Arlington, which is like the youth conferences we used to go to when I was in the youth group. They had some great speakers and fun entertainment. This was the first trip with Russell and Laurie Frantz, who were interns when I was a senior in high school. We had a good group of kids go (between 30 and 40) and us chaperones got to stay in the rooms with middle schoolers. It wasn't bad...my three girls actually let me sleep on the king size bed all to myself! I offered both nights, but they were perfectly happy with their sleeping bags :) We're glad we got to spend time with these teenagers, as well as the other chaperones, Brandon, Randi, and Tiffany. Maybe we'll get to do it again sometime.

Laundry
Doctor Update
Everything looks good! I'm going to start taking Clomid tomorrow (so forgive me if I'm not my normal self in the next week or so). Then I'll go back to the doctor next Thursday. We'll do another ultrasound, and if the doctor gives us the thumbs up, we'll do the IUI. Melanie...I have to do an Ovidrel shot at some point, so I'll let you know. Your prayers are working!!

Good Times
My dad's helping me paint our laundry room today. I know nobody sees it but us, but I'm tired of the walls looking so dingy. It's a small room anyway, so it's not a big job.
Tomorrow at 8:45 I'm going to see Dr. Kaufmann for an ultrasound. I'm praying the cyst is gone so we can get the ball rolling for the IUI. The nurse said if everything looks good, I'll start taking Clomid on Thursday. I'd be finished taking that on Monday, and then I'd go back next week for another sonogram (that can be my birthday present). I'm so glad my body is finally cooperating. I just finished taking the birth control pills, which were to regulate my hormones. Please keep us in your prayers. We appreciate all the support from our friends and family.

Surprise
Well, we were wrong. We're not going to have another niece after-all because IT'S A BOY! I'm going to have to change my thinking. Now we'll have one of each to spoil!
It's been a crazy week because I've been subbing and working my regular days. I'm not used to working so much :) Aaron got me a 1 hour massage for our anniversary, so I'm treating myself to a little "me" time next week. I'm also hoping we'll get to go back to Dr. Kaufmann sometime in the next couple of weeks. If the cyst is gone, then we should be able to do the IUI. I'll keep you all updated, and please keep up the prayers!!!

Niece or Nephew
Happy Anniversary to us :) Today's our 3 year anniversary! We went to JW's Steakhouse at the DFW Marriot for dinner. That's where we ate on our honeymoon (and stayed before going to Hawaii). Too bad we're not leaving tomorrow for the beach! Speaking of tomorrow, Rudy will be 15 months old. Awww...our baby's growing up!
The big question is whether we're going to have a niece or nephew this June. My brother and sister in-law had a sonogram yesterday, and although the doctor's not 100% sure, it looks like we'll be seeing more PINK in the summer!

Tinkerbell
After church today we gave Katie her new Tinkerbell backpack and matching lunchbox. The wings can come off for her to wear. I think she liked flying with Uncle Aaron! She's 19 months old today and looks like such a big girl with her backpack on. She's also wearing the dress we got her for Christmas! I can't help spoiling her, and hopefully tomorrow we'll find out if Katie will be having a little brother or a little sister. Either way, we'll spoil them just as much as we spoil her!

Life at the Preschool
Carissa called me out on not posting in several days. Sorry! I'm actually subbing for a girl at the preschool for a few days, plus working my normal days, and it's hard getting back into the swing of things. We're also preparing to teach the kids their songs for the program at the beginning of March. It's a Mother Goose theme, and it's going to be really cute! My niece started at the preschool today. I loved having her there! Right now she's only coming on Fridays, but it's so fun to have her singing along with me. I wasn't sure how she would do during "circle time" with the other kids around and me up at the front singing, but she did just fine. It wasn't until the very end when we were saying the pledge she came up to me. I picked her up and let her hold the flag :) Of-course I have to spoil her...so I bought Katie a new Tinkerbell backpack and matching lunch box. I couldn't resist!!!
