Ham and Cheese Crescents

Heat oven to 375 degrees.  Separate 1 8oz. can Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Roll dough into triangles.  Place 1 thin slice of ham and 1 thin slice of cheese (whatever kind you like) on top of each triangle.  Roll up and place on an  ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake for 12 to 16 minutes or until golden brown.  These are super easy and would be good for breakfast or as an appetizer.

Lake Day

We had fun in Granbury today!  I think the first picture is so funny because it's the tiniest pool.  Bethany was still napping, so Zachary was enjoying some time with Daddy.
Then she woke up!
We all went for an afternoon boat ride.
The cousins enjoyed playing together.

First Haircut

Today has been nice because Aaron's taking some vacation days.  We went on a morning walk using Adam and Bridget's double stroller.  Then we got out some toys we had been saving for when they got older.  After lunch, I took Zach to get his first hair cut!  I wasn't sure what to expect, but the lady at Great Clips was super fast, and she gave us a card with his first clip of hair to put in his baby book.  He cried when she sprayed his hair, but I was able to calm him down.  Hopefully we won't have to go back for a while!

We've hit double digits!

What is it about double digits that makes my babies seem so old?  They're now 10 months, just two months away from their 1st birthday!
I tried to get some measurements to write in their baby books.  Bethany weighed in at 19 pounds, 2 ounces.  Zachary hit the 20 mark!  He weighed 20 pounds, 4 ounces.  That was just with their diapers on!  They're both still about 28 inches long.

Video of the Day

Zachary's rocking back and forth now, so it shouldn't be long until he's moving like his sister!  Her favorite thing to do right now is "walk" around and around the play yard (or whatever you want to call it).

Chicken Casserole

1 can chicken
1 can cream of chicken soup
chopped onions (optional)
1 cup macaroni
salt & pepper
1/4 cup grated cheese

Cook macaroni in about 4 cups of water for 10 minutes or until tender.  While this is cooking, mix together other ingredients.  Drain macaroni and then stir into mixture.  Sprinkle with cheese and bake 45 minutes in 350 degree oven.  I plan on doubling this recipe so we have more leftovers!

What's Next?

This is from a couple of days ago.  Bethany's been pulling up on EVERYTHING this week!  Zachary's just now starting to crawl backwards, but I'm sure he'll catch up to her eventually.  Something else I haven't been able to catch on video yet is Zach laughing at Bethany while we eat.  I love his little giggle!  She'll shake her head back and forth, and he thinks it's hilarious.  We're now eating oatmeal at breakfast, fruit around lunch, veggies during the afternoon, and then our bedtime bottle.  They still get about 20-24 ounces of formula in a day, but in just about two more months we won't be buying formula anymore.  Woo-Hoo!

Story Time

We've been getting into the routine of reading before bed.  They like to look at books more than chew on them now.  The days are going by so fast, and I'm trying to hold onto these fun baby stages.  This time last year I was pregnant!  Just for fun, I looked back at my blog post from last year...check it out.  We were in Granbury!

Pink Salad

Here's something yummy for the summer:

1 can Eagle Brand Milk
1 can Com Stock Cherry Pie Filling
1 large can crushed unsweetened Pineapple
1 cup chopped Pecans
8 oz. tub of Cool Whip

Mix together in large bowl.  Cover and refrigerate until serving time.  A funny story about this salad.  I made it once in college for a bridal shower, and we wanted it to be purple.  So we tried to add food coloring, but it didn't turn out pretty.  I think it was gray!

Standing

What can I say about my little girl?  She's curious, determined, fearless, and the opposite of her brother!  It's been an exciting week around here because now she's pulling up...

Clapping

I know I've got many blog readers out there because you tell me in person about things you've seen on here.  Feel free to comment so I know I've got an audience!  Bethany's latest "trick" is clapping as you can see in the video above :)

Hash Brown Casserole

Potato Casserole:
1 (2 pound) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
2 cups sour cream
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups grated American or Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons chopped onion (I use the dried chopped onion)
1 teaspoon salt and pepper
1 cup melted butter
2 cups crushed Ritz crackers

The day before serving, combine potatoes, sour cream, soup, cheese, chopped onion, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup melted butter.  Place in greased 9x13 inch pan.  Cover with foil and refrigerate.  The next day, sprinkle with Ritz cracker crumbs and 1/2 cup melted butter.  Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes in 350 degree oven.  I've got lots of favorite vegetable dishes!  What are some of yours?

To Abilene & Back

What a weekend!  We left Saturday morning for Abilene to go to a birthday party for my friend's little boy.  It was a train theme, and the kids had lots of fun!
She wasn't so sure about the party hat.
Amanda, Zach, Brad, & Bethany
The Clute's (our adopted family all through college).
A picture with my kids (but I didn't get one with hers).
We headed to Granbury after lunch in Abilene.  My grandparents live on the lake, and it's always so nice to spend the night there.  Here's Bethany and Zachary with Grandma Billie.  It's good to be home, but we enjoyed our weekend trip.

Finger Foods

Here's my review of baby finger foods so far.  The Mum-Mums are the way to go!  Not only are they individually packaged (and come with two in each package...perfect for twins), but they don't make a mess.  The Gerber biter biscuits are super messy!
If you notice in the picture, Zach has a "dribble rash" under his chin.  The doctor had said to try an antifungal cream, but it only seemed to make it more red.  I've been sticking with the Destin, but it still isn't better.  Any other suggestions?

King Ranch Chicken

Rotel King Ranch Chicken:
1/4 cup margarine
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can Rotel
2 cans of chicken
12 corn tortillas, torn into bite size
2 cups shredded cheese

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  In a large saucepan, add melted margarine, soups, Rotel, and chicken, stirring until well blended.  Layer tortilla squares, soup mixture, and cheese 3 times in a 13x9x2 pan.  Bake for 40 minutes.  I like to make this because we always have leftovers to eat on later.  What recipes do you make that have lots of leftovers?
