Let the waiting begin!

In two weeks we will find out if we're pregnant. Everything went well with the IUI this morning. The doctor said there's four follicles (where the eggs are), which is more than last time. Hey, did you know on the show "Jon and Kate Plus 8" they had their multiples doing IUI's? This whole time I thought they had done in-vitro. I added their website to my links if you want to read more about them.

Here we go again :)

We'll be doing our next IUI on Wednesday morning. I haven't worked in like a week because of all my doctor's appointments, and then I think, there's no way I could have managed this if I still worked at CES. It's been a true blessing to work at our church preschool. Not only is everybody so nice and understanding, but I don't have to worry about making lesson plans and getting sub after sub to work for me. Next week I'll be working every day getting ready for our program. I think it's going to be super cute! I'll definitely have to get pictures of the kids in their costumes. It's a mother goose theme, so the different classes are dressed up as cats, mice, sheep, pigs, etc.

Who watched the Oscars last night? I didn't know many of the people who won, but the writer of Juno did win. Very cool! I also thought Jon Stewart was a funny host.

My Boys

We took Rudy over to Aaron's parents' house last night to play with Max and Papi. Here's a picture of all of them together. They're waiting for me to give them a treat.

The other picture is from this morning. You can see Rudy at the end of the couch. He likes to cuddle! He sleeps in our bed too...all 56 pounds of him. It looks like it's going to be another lazy Saturday. We'll probably go to the dog park since it's supposed to warm up later. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Moody

Is it bad when the CVS pharmacy knows you by name? Well, I went to the doctor today. He told me to keep taking the shots (at a lower doasage) for three more nights. Then I go back on Monday, and hopefully he'll schedule us for the IUI by the end of next week. I was talking to a girl in the waiting room, and she's on her second IUI too. She was saying how the medicine has made her really moody. I'm so glad to hear it's not just me! Aaron says it's easy to see when I'm in one of my moods because I'm usually so bubbly. I guess if you REALLY know me, you've seen one of the "Amber moods" he's talking about.

Here's something funny I'll leave you with (Aaron doesn't think it's so funny). I had Rudy's face trimmed, even though it's fun to put his long, shaggy hair in a mohawk. I told Aaron it would grow back, but he's already warned me if we have a son he'll be shaving his head at some point in time. I don't think Rudy looks too bad :(

New Cast

Check out the new cast of Dancing with the Stars!
You know I'll be watching! I'm also planning to watch the 80th Oscars Night on Sunday, but thanks to DVR, I can fast forward through all the boring parts. Half the fun is to see what the stars wear as they're walking down the red carpet! I actually haven't seen a lot of the films nominated, but I did see Juno. It would be neat if she won...or even the movie.

American Gladiators

Who watches the new American Gladiators on NBC? Evan and Monica won last night. Way cool! Okay, I haven't updated in a while about our doctor visits...so here's the scoop. I'm taking Clomid and injections to stimulate the follicles. Meaning, Aaron gets to give me shots in my belly for the next four nights. I go back for an ultrasound on Friday to see if we're ready to do the IUI, which will probably be next week. Then we just have to wait again. Want to see all of my medications:

The red thing on the left is to put the needles in afterward. I take some stuff at night and some in the morning, so it's not all at once :) Rudy's getting groomed right now, so I'm enjoying the peace and quiet, as well as having the day off for President's Day. How nice!

Puppy Love

I hope everyone had a happy Valentine's Day! Aaron came home today and gave me this cute Hallmark dog, which pants and the ears wiggle. Rudy didn't know what to think of it! We tried to capture his reaction on camera :)

On another note, we're going to the doctor tomorrow afternoon, so I can have an ultrasound, and we can talk to the doctor about what we want to do next. It looks like we're going to try an IUI again. Maybe, just maybe, it will work the second time around!

A new day...

Aaron's off to Lubbock to interview at Texas Tech for future engineers :) It's pretty cool because he's getting to take over the Tech recruiting for his office. So, it's just me and Rudy until Thursday. Hopefully our water heater will get fixed today. We had to buy a whole new one! By the time we pay for the labor to put it in, it will probably be the cost of another IUI. The doctor hasn't called yet, but here's what I'm thinking. We really want to go to Nicauragua with our church on a mission trip this summer, which would be about $1000 for both of us to go. I know God has a plan for us, so I'm just going to keep praying. Maybe we'll get pregnant before then, but for now, I think we're going to hold off on doing another procedure...or not!

Okay, the doctor finally called today (Wednesday) and he said if we decide to do it again, we'd attack it more aggresively this time. I'd have to do injections and take more medicine. He did say I had two follicles last time (so I guess that means I could have had twins). We're still doing a lot of praying to figure out what steps to take next.

Not meant to be!

The nurse called about 15 minutes ago, and the test came back negative. I know so many of you have been praying for us to be pregnant, but I guess it's not God's timing right now. It's weird, but I woke up this morning and already seemed to know it wasn't our day. Aaron called me from the gym and somebody had taken his keys. His truck was still there, but his keys were missing. Then around noon I went into the garage and there was water everywhere. The water heater has a leak, so Aaron came home to turn off the water and his dad's going to help him fix it tonight. What a day! Dr. Kaufmann's supposed to call us either tonight or tomorrow morning to talk about what we want to do next. As for me, I'm okay...disappointed, but okay.

UPDATE: We did get a call from the gym last night, and some girl had taken Aaron's keys by mistake. At least we don't have to spend $1000 to get his truck relocked. Mystery solved.

Sunny Saturday

We went to the dog park again today. There were a lot of dogs there! We sat outside for about an hour. Here's a picture of me enjoying the nice weather...

Last night we went to the Circle Theatre in downtown Forth Worth to see a play, which was something different to do. It was a funny love story. It's hard to believe Valentine's Day is this week. Where is the year going? Anyway, I'll be sure to post something on Monday to let y'all know the results from THE test!

TMJ

I went to the dentist today, and sure enough, I have TMJ. I found this on WebMD, which describels my problems exactly: http://blogs.webmd.com/all-ears/2007/07/is-it-tmj.html. My left ear has been hurting since probably December, and I even went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago because I thought I had an ear infection. Well, it turns out the part of my jaw that pops out of place (on the left side) is right next to my ear canal. Crazy! My dentist is making me a night guard, which is like a retainer, to keep me from clenching my teeth. I've noticed I clench while I'm driving too...and guess what can cause all of this? STRESS :) Anyway, I'm going back to Dr. Kaufmann's office on Monday morning, so I've only got a few more days to wait on the blood test. I so want to take my own pregnancy test, but I can wait until 8:30 on Monday. It's hard to be patient though!

Dog Park

Yesterday we took Rudy to the Dog Park. He loves playing with the other dogs, and as you can see from the picture, he's very social. Rudy's on the left with his red Texas Tech colar on.

Later that day we went to the movies to see Juno. It was a quirky comedy. We laughed a lot (ignoring the random bad language). It was the most funny at the beginning when Dwight from The Office made an appearance. Tonight we're going to watch the Super Bowl with Aaron's family. I don't really care who wins though.

Happy Groundhog Day

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, so that mean six more weeks of winter. I've always liked Groundhog Day. Maybe it's because I like to watch the movie. It's a tradition my dad and I started to annoy my mom. She's not a fan of the movie repeating itself over and over again :)

At 10:29am, Christa gave birth to a 7lbs. 11oz. and 21" long baby boy named Brayden Garrett Keltner. Congratulations!

Update...here's a couple of pictures from the hospital:

Just Waiting

Waiting is the hardest part, or so they say. I'm doing okay though. I won't be taking my own pregnancy test at home because the HCG shot would give me a false positive no matter what. I'll just have to wait until the 11th to know for sure. I can't believe it's February! Are any of y'all LOST fans? If so, then you probably watched it last night. It was good, but of-course it made you have more questions. Like, who are the Oceanic 6? And I still want to know who Jack went to see at the funeral from last season. With all the shows being repeats lately, we've been watching a lot of reality tv. Aaron likes Dirty Jobs, Dog Whisperer, and we've actually been watching Jon and Kate Plus 8. They have twins and sextuplets. Wow! We also watch The Biggest Loser...the trainers have some really good tips. I haven't been to the gym in a looooong time. I'm definitely going to yoga on Saturday morning. We have no plans this weekend, which is a great feeling :)
