Freaky Friday

Friday's the day for our third and final IUI. Dr. K said there's 4 "ripe" follicles, which I think is how many we had last time. I just hope it works this time! Christa tagged me, so I guess I'm supposed to come up with 7 random things about myself.

1. I named our dog Rudy after one of my favorite movies, RUDY!

2. I can touch my tongue to my nose, but I can't roll my tongue.

3. I met Aaron when we were seniors in high school...in the band.

4. I've owned 2 cars in my life, a Honda Accord and my Trailblazer.

5. I've had knee surgery from a torn ACL (which is why I don't snow ski).

6. I'm a night owl, but my husband is more of a morning person. I guess opposites attract!

7. Last but not least, I love getting together with old friends. Staying in touch with people makes me happy, and I better see all of you GHS alumni at our 10 year reunion next year :)

Vegas Baby

Aaron got back from Las Vegas about 400 dollars richer. He had a lot of fun with his brother and dad. One of the coolest things they did was ride the "Xscream" on top of a 109 story building. It goes out over the side of the building and then shoots down, like you're falling off!? Aaron and Anthony ate plenty of sushi, and the last Vegas picture is the fountain in front of the Bellagio!Yesterday we had a shower at my parents' house for Adam and Bridget's baby boy, Randal William Eakins. He's due around June 8th, which is right after Katie turns 2! We got her a little gift, so she'd have something to open too :)

Needles in my ear!

I saw "Dr. Su" today at the Chinese Wellness Center in Richland Hills. Dr. Connors referred me to her. I was there for about an hour. Here's what she did: I sat on the table and she asked me to stick my left arm out. Then I was supposed to push up as hard as I could against her hand. I had my other hand on different places like my back, forehead, neck, and apparently she could tell where the toxins were in my body according to how hard I pushed. I don't know, but she said I had a lot of toxins! So then I layed down, and she put about a dozen needles around my body. Some were in my feet, hands, and stomach. The ones in my tummy were the weirdest because she would press on them, and it felt like something was spreading out (I can't describe the feeling). Anyway, I layed there for about 30 minutes while these needles felt like I had a bug bite I needed to itch. I just tried to think of other things! When Dr. Su came back, she took those needles out, and then she put these little needles in my right ear, which are still there! I have to keep them in for like a week. They don't stick out or anything...they're flat against my ear. Crazy!!!

Aaron's in Las Vegas right now, and he has the camera, so I can't take pictures of what I look like :) I did give myself the shot last night for the IUI. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I'll give it to myself tonight and tomorrow, and then I'll let Aaron take back over. In other news, working at the chiropractor's office has been a lot of fun! He has several athletes (Dallas Cowboys) who come in for stuff. I've met Akin Ayodele and Bradie James. I'm sure if I work there long enough I can get tickets to some games or something. All of his patients are super friendly, and I enjoy talking to people. It gives me a break from the 5 and under group at the preschool!

Doctor Stuff

This morning Aaron and I went to see Dr. Kaufmann, and we've decided to try a third IUI. I start taking Clomid tonight, and then I'll be doing the shots (like I did before) until next week. If all goes well, we should be doing the IUI next Thursday or Friday. Please keep us in your prayers :)

I called an acupuncturist, but our insurance doesn't cover it. I might try to get Dr. Connors (the chiropractor I'm working for) to try his acupuncture skills on me. We'll see!

The simple things...

The simple things in life make me happy. Who knew you could get tacos AND hush puppies in the same meal. Well, you can when you eat at a Taco Bell/Long John's Silver. I've been working on alphabetizing files at the chiropractor's office all week, and I found 3 missing files...which is something else that made me happy. Listening to Delilah on the radio, watching my dog slide on our wood floor chasing a ball, and driving in the rain. Okay, maybe not the last one. I don't like driving in the rain, especially when it's dark outside. Tonight after bible study, it was raining so hard that I pulled under an awning and waited it out. I made it home in one piece, and now I'm looking forward to a HAPPY weekend.

Hump Day

It's not every day you can say a toad peed on you. Really...we had the Fort Worth Zoo come out to the preschool, and I got to hold a big, fat toad that peed on me. Good times! Last night we watched the Biggest Loser finale, and Ali Vincent won. She's the first girl to win! She lost 112 pounds (from 234 to 122). Wow!

I haven't been this tired in a long time, but I'm enjoying my job at the chiropractor's office. It'll be more normal next week when the other girl gets back from her vacation. Speaking of vacations, Aaron's going to Las Vegas next week with his dad and brother for Anthony's 21st birthday. I'll make him take lots of pictures for me to post.

Workaholic

I worked 20 hours for Dr. Connors last week, otherwise known as Doc. I've learned how to use all the machines, and Mikenzie (who hired me) is going to be out of town next week. That leaves me and Doc to handle things until she gets back. It's going to be a crazy week! Well, now that the writer's strike is over, all the shows are coming back with new episodes. I've been watching Dancing with the Stars, and my two favorite dancers are Shannon Elizabeth and Kristi Yamaguchi. They're both good, so maybe a female will actually win!

Storms

Here's my non-belly "belly" shot. Haha...Aaron made me take this earlier in the week. It's not the most flattering picture, but scrubs sure are comfortable. And if any of you nurses out there have scrubs you don't want anymore, I'll gladly take them off your hands!

I'm so tired after being up from about 3:30 to 4:30 this morning during the storms. My husband slept through most of it, but Rudy kept me company. We had the radio on listening to all the tornado warnings/watches. I was thinking most of you with kids were probably up too!

What's new?

Where do I begin? Okay, last night we went to the Stars game, and even though they lost, it was a lot of fun. Thanks to Mike and Stephanie for inviting us! The first picture looks like the Stars player is in the picture with us :) You can see from the second picture we had pretty good seats...and best of all, they were FREE!

So, Aaron promised to try yoga this morning. We went...and the instructor never showed up! I guess he'll have to go with me another time (he's not getting out of it that easy). Now the crazy news: I'm starting another job on Monday. What am I thinking? Actually, it's at the office of my chiropractor. I was talking to the girl who works as the receptionist, nurse, and everything else (it's just her and Dr. Connors). Anyway, she was looking for part-time help and I'd get to see the chiropractor for free. They have the easiest hours, and it shouldn't interfere with GCS. I might even get to fulfill my dream of wearing scrubs. You never know what God will bring your way!

Funny Dog

I don't have any pictures to share, but I do have a funny story! Last night we tried something new with Rudy. Any of you who have dogs out there may have a problem with them barking. Rudy's worst time is at night...I think he's barking at the stars! He'll go outside and bark until we have to bribe him to come back in with a treat. Anyway, we now have a bark control collar, which is made by PetSafe and is very humane. It sends a "static correction" when he barks, and let me tell you, the first time he barked I swear he jumped a couple of feet in the air. Aaron and I were sitting on the deck, and he'd run up to us wondering what was going on. I couldn't help but laugh. We should have video taped it!

Nobody commented on my comic from last weekend. We have it on our refrigerator :) We're going to the Dallas Stars game tonight with Mike and Stephanie, some friends from church. I'm looking forward to having a night out on the town.
