Priorities

It's funny how our priorities change over time. I was thinking about this while cleaning...something I don't do nearly as often as I should. Anyway, you know how when you graduate from college and you try to find the perfect job, or when you get engaged and you have to register for the perfect things to decorate your place. I'm sure it's the same way when you have kids. I don't know what my point is, but someone asked me the other day if I felt bad for my parents putting me through college and now I'm not teaching in the public schools. I thought about it, and I really don't feel bad because I am teaching...even if I'm not making the same kind of money. Yes, I'm working at a chiropractor's office which has nothing to do with what I went to school for, but it's where God has put me right now, and I plan on making the best of it. Besides, going to ACU brought me to friends, which I'm sure I'll have for the rest of my life. I guess those are my deep thoughts for today. Happy Birthday, Aaron!

Today is actually Aaron's birthday, and I gave him a Nintendo DS. I'm having fun playing it too! Our favorite game right now is Brain Age 2, which has some fun games on it like the old Dr. Mario. It also has Soduku...and I finished my first puzzle on my own today! I just wanted to wish my husband a very happy 27th birthday.

It was quite an eventful day! The two showers were for my best friend Jill, who gets married in July, and Aaron's cousin April, who will be having a baby girl named Haisley. It seems like I do more resting during the week, and my weekends are go, go, go :)

Meet Randal :)

He's here!!! Randal William Eakins was born today at 2:29 PM. He's 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and 20 1/2 inches long. I was with Katie all day, and she kept saying, "Bubba here," which is why you see him wearing the Bubba hat. Katie also made her new brother some art work at Gymboree. Isn't my nephew a cutie?

I figured I better put lots of pictures of Katie because soon she will be sharing the spotlight with her brother, Randal. She had a good birthday...she even got her own baby doll. We got her the kitchen set, and I have to say she has quite an imagination! I just found out my cousin Brad and his wife Bri are pregnant, so a big congrats to them!

Party Time!

Today my favorite niece turned 2 years old! I can't believe how much Katie's grown and learned in the last 2 years. She's also got a lot more hair these days :)

We're having a party for her tomorrow, so I'll have some pictures to share...and then my nephew will be here on Tuesday (if Bridget doesn't go into labor before that).

Aaron and I just saw "What Happens in Vegas" with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. It was really funny! Oh, I also bought Julianne Hough's CD this week. Some Closure

What a morning! I went back to my school (CES) to see the first group of kids I taught graduate from 5th grade. It was also good to see the class I had for the first six weeks of the school year, and I got to meet the teacher who took my place. She's amazing and was definitely an answer to many prayers!

I've been reading a book, which I first heard about on Delilah. It's called "The Shack" by William P. Young. It's hard to describe, but I started reading it in the Bahamas, and now I can't put it down! If you have time to read a book this summer, I highly recommend this one.
