Surprise Party

Tony, my father-in-law, turned 50 yesterday! We surprised him by decorating his office (that's Aaron with his younger brother and sister), and then we really surprised him with about 30 people at Cozymel's for dinner. It was a lot of fun!

This is a bottle of M&M's.

Made it to 100!!!

It's my 100th post. Wow! As I promised, I found a couple more pictures from Aaron and I back when we were in college. The first one was the fall before we started dating. He was drum major of the Texas Tech band, and I had to go see him :) The other one is from his last formal, and I'm wearing Christi's prom dress!
And last but not least, it's VBS at our church this week. Katie and I are posing in our t-shirts. I can't believe how big she's getting!

Rudy Rader

We probably should have never let Rudy sleep in our bed with us! He's gotten much bigger than I ever thought he would, and he doesn't stay at the foot of the bed like he's supposed to...haha. He really likes to sleep between Aaron and I, and we find him in the most interesting positions in the mornings. So, here's a picture of me and my lapdog!

Thanks for all the comments on my last post. I do enjoy looking back at old pictures, and what's funny is most of the pictures of us are at football games or baseball games. I'll keep looking for some good ones to show my faithful readers!

Date Night

A couple of nights ago, Aaron and I went out to eat in downtown Fort Worth and then we saw a movie (Get Smart) which was very funny. Then I got to thinking...it's been about 10 years since Aaron and I first met in high school. And it's been about 6 years since I made the drive from Abilene to Lubbock to visit a "friend" who I was keeping in touch with on the computer.
I could find a lot more pictures of us in our younger years, but these are some of my favorites. Anyway, I'm so thankful God brought Aaron and I together. He's got perfect timing!

Fun in the Sun

Here's some pictures from our 4th of July weekend! We took Katie to see her first fireworks show last night in Granbury, where my grandparents live. She really liked them! Rudy had a fun time riding in the boat, and he even went swimming in the lake. I'm looking forward to when Randal can join in on the fun too :)

Priorities

It's funny how our priorities change over time. I was thinking about this while cleaning...something I don't do nearly as often as I should. Anyway, you know how when you graduate from college and you try to find the perfect job, or when you get engaged and you have to register for the perfect things to decorate your place. I'm sure it's the same way when you have kids. I don't know what my point is, but someone asked me the other day if I felt bad for my parents putting me through college and now I'm not teaching in the public schools. I thought about it, and I really don't feel bad because I am teaching...even if I'm not making the same kind of money. Yes, I'm working at a chiropractor's office which has nothing to do with what I went to school for, but it's where God has put me right now, and I plan on making the best of it. Besides, going to ACU brought me to friends, which I'm sure I'll have for the rest of my life. I guess those are my deep thoughts for today. Also, I thought I'd share a website of a girl who came into the doctor's office the other day. She's not an athlete...she's a Christian singer who happens to be in Nashville making her second album right now. See what you think: http://www.karijobe.com/
