We made it through the first Progesterone shot in my hip last night! You know, I wouldn't wish this whole process on anybody. It all started about a year after being married, and of -course I thought it wouldn't take long to get pregnant. After a year of trying, I mentioned we were having problems to my doctor. I remember the first of the tests was back in June 2007...the dye test to see if my tubes were blocked. Aaron was tested as well, but our results came back normal. The Clomid was next, which we all know made me crazy :) In 2008 we tried 3 IUI's, then came the Femara, and now after getting into an IVF research study, we're going to find out our results in just 2 weeks! I got a call from the embryologist yesterday. We had 13 (the magic number) eggs retrieved on Sunday. Out of those, 4 of them weren't mature enough to use, and 4 more were too fragile. So, they injected 5 eggs, and 1 ended up being abnormal. Now we're left with 4 good embryos. Let's pray those 4 make it through the week. Then we'll be able to transfer 2 and freeze the other 2 on Friday. I'll be having the procedure done a little before noon, and then I'll be taking it easy for the next 24 hours. Wow! If you're still confused, I found a pretty good article on WebMD about the IVF procedure.
