We're back from Nicaragua! Since we took over 30 people from our church this year, a bus picked us up in Managua.
We got some coffee at the beginning of the week. This was like a sweet frappuccino!
I met this cute 6 month old boy on Monday.
Aaron made some friends while in character as Daniel (we acted out the story).
On Thursday I did some face painting while others from our group worked with our doctor, dentist, and checked vision to give people glasses.
The highlight of my trip was when I got to go to Casa Materna and deliver fabric and other baby items I've been collecting since last year. There were about 20 pregnant ladies (some as young as 14) staying in Jinotega. They live there until their babies are born, so one thing they can do is make their own baby blankets to pass the time. This girl had already put one together.
We also gave pedicures and manicures.
The kids were actually out of school for a Nicaraguan holiday all week. I got to help deliver supplies to build a new school, serve soup for lunch one day, help at a mobile clinic and with vision testing, as well as help teach bible stories at a teacher's workshop. It was a great week!
And Bethany got to wear her dress from Nicaragua to church today. So glad to be home :)
